We launched the Petite Club for two reasons: (1) to offer introductory pricepoints for select styles, and (2) to increase our sustainability footprint by addressing the problem of dead stock inventory. Here's what this all means:

The problem

Did you know that every year the fast fashion industry wastes an estimated 11.2 million tons of fabric a year? This is a problem because clothing and household textiles make up 5.2% of the waste in landfills.

One of the main contributors is Dead Stock fabric. Dead Stock fabric is leftover fabric after a given season is run. Approximately 15-20% of all fabric winds up as dead stock on the cutting room floor. Most of this leftover fabric is thrown away as waste and some brands even allegedly burn dead stock as well as out of season merchandise.

Rethinking dead stock

Every year we have leftover fabric. Rather than throw it away, we are constantly thinking of new ways to reuse this material in order to increase our sustainability efforts and decrease our carbon footprint. We have also been actively taking into consideration customer feedback requesting lower price points in the range of $99 and under. We understand that Slow Fashion costs a premium, and would love to contribute to increasing accessibility to the sustainable fashion space.

And that is how the 99 Club was born.

Through the 99 Club, we put our leftover fabric to good use: creating classic styles with dead stock fabric, which we can offer at lower price points -- some below $99! We see this launch as a win-win for the environment and increased accessibility for shoppers who would like to purchase more sustainably.
