Jane Wang, Petite Studio Director of Merchandising, tells you everything you need to know about the 2018 Summer Collection and how to dress for the summer.
How would you describe the Petite Studio Summer Collection and what makes it unique?
Colorful, fun and versatile. I love how the pieces are great for work, the weekend or vacation. My favorites are the Celina Dress and the Remy Jumpsuit.
Advice on looking polished yet staying cool on a hot summer day?
One trick I've found is to keep a blazer or denim jacket in the office to throw over shoulder baring tops or dresses. This will help you keep cool during your commute and remain conservative at work. An added bonus is that it can also save you from the frigid office AC. Our Reese Jacket is perfect for this.
What's an easy neutral to wear in the summer?
A pair of flowy pants in a fun summer color! To me neutral doesn't have to mean boring and basic. It means it's versatile and can be easily paired with an array of different colors and styles. For example, I love our Fuschia Pants in dusty blue. They can be dressed up with a crisp white button down or dressed down with a tank.
What petite piece do you suggest to start off a staples wardrobe?
A great pair of office pants, like our Emery Pants in Grey. There's nothing like having a well fitted pair of pants. Because of my short legs, I always have to get my pants and jeans tailored and even then, sometimes the proportions just aren't right. The Emery pants have been a game changer for me.
